There were four football teams on the field at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday when the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins fought for the NFC East title. Two local teams witnessed that game up close from field bleachers. During game breaks, the high school state champion Imhotep Panthers and Pop Warner national champion Northwest Raiders got on-screen recognition for their recent victories.
One week ago, the Imhotep Panthers won the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class AAA State Championship in Hershey. A day later, the Northwest Raiders became back-to-back Midget Division I Pop Warner Champions at the ESPN Sports complex in Florida. Both teams share players and an uneven training patch in East Germantown.

Mayor Micheal Nutter, PIAA District Chair Robert Coleman, Philadelphia Eagles President Don Smolenski, Eagles mascot Swoop, and North Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill dropped by the pen to congratulate and take pictures with both teams.

As the Redskins led 38-24 in the fourth quarter, the local championship teams left, and so did many other Eagles fans.
